Molly Rae Batchelor

Administrative Assistant

Growing up in a ministry household, there was never a time in my life when I didn’t know of Jesus. The Lord opened my eyes to His goodness when I was 7 years old and I began walking in a relationship with Him.

For as long as I can remember I planned to pursue a career in the medical field. In high school I struggled with an identity in who I was as a student, always striving to be the best and have the highest grades in order to be the best doctor or nurse out there. I applied and got accepted to UAB, met my now husband over a conversation about moving to Birmingham, and eventually moved into the city. However, shortly after I got here the Lord made known to me that His ways are much higher than my own.

Tyler and I got married when I was in my first semester of nursing school. We find out a few weeks later we are pregnant with our son, Jude. After significant thought and prayer, the Lord made it known to us that right now I am not supposed to continue with nursing school, but focus on being Jude’s mom and raising him to know of Jesus.

The Lord so graciously provided this position to work for our church family while also staying home to raise Jude. I have learned that my identity is not as a student, a future nurse, or even as a wife, but my identity is in Christ, and for that, I am forever grateful. :)

I have recently discovered a newfound love for reading, so you can probably find me snuggled up with my kindle and a fun drink, working on some kind of home renovation project for our midcentury fixer upper, or somewhere chasing a very quick moving little boy! I’m a huge people person and don’t ever like being alone, so let’s get together to chat over coffee or queso!
